Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching Bailey play softball Saturday. I grew up traveling the entire state of Utah, and parts of Colorado with my Dad, watching ballgames and wrestling matches. We would drive hours from Vernal, Utah, to Price, Delta, Hurricane, to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, returning home in the wee hours of the morning.  Little did I know, that it was preparing me for a life with a family of athletes.

Once the kids were old enough, we were up to our eyeballs attending sporting events. Baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, and track meets became ingrained in our lives. Traveling the Wasatch Front, Nevada, Idaho, and Arizona, kept us hopping. There were many championship games. Some games ending with wins, and some ending with heartache.

Saturday, we approach the whole double elimination tournament thinking we would go home after the second game.We even had Mother's Day plans at Pappasitos, but fate had us there for 11 fun hours of, cheering, eating ballpark food, and sitting in a not so comfortable weather.

We kind of dubbed the team the "Bad News Bears."  They struggled most of the season, the top three teams pounded them. The girls practiced three night a week up until the last few weeks, but because of rain, not much practice.  So even a little rusty, these girl's battled to the end to beat the first and second place team not only once, but twice the same day.

After the first win I thought, that was lucky, and then they went on to lose the second one.  Double elimination meant we had to play the team we played the first game again, because they won their second game. I thought this is it, we can still make dinner. Even down by 4 or 5 they had a great inning, and came back to win the game.  We were in shock.  Rick had an appointment to get our roof replaced, and had missed the third game.  I got on the cell and called him to tell him we were in the championship game. He promptly return to the park and we settled in for another nail biter.  We went ahead and stayed there to win the game! We were so happy for Bailey.  She played well offensively and defensively. I will cherish that moment of excitement from years past, that visited me again on Saturday!

Sometimes it's great to watch the underdog win!

Just trying to do my best...

Tonight we went over to check on the Stewart's. Jarod had Livi and Zeke, while Brianne had the boys at swim team.  We waited for Bri to come home. Livi was ready to eat and we sat and chatted.  Ike said, "Mom said its easier to manage when your not here."  You know kinda chuckled, we left and drove home.  At first I wanted to be hurt, and feel bad. Then I thought to myself, that's what I would have said, if I would have had anyone help me, after I had a my babies.  I didn't have help, so I really sincerely didn't know what would help. I like things done my way.

Spending 10 to 12 hours a day for a week with 3 little boys wasn't easy.  Sometimes all I had was their word on how things were done, or what was allowed. I helped fold wash, dress boys, take boys to school, and change diapers, wash dishes, and play with the boys.  I didn't cook much, fold the clothes right way, put them away right, make lunches right, but what I did, I did with love, and did my best. So I am okay with it. I am blessed to have my grandchildren near, and was there to help when they were born, even if it was my way.

Introducing Olivia Jane Stewart

Got the call early morning on the 24th, to say that Livi was on her way.  Threw myself out of a warm cozy bed, dreading I had stayed up way too late the night before.  The adrenalin got me going, and excited to meet my new granddaughter.  Got over to the Stewart's to find my daughter curling her hair, and putting on make-up, before she left for the hospital.  Due to my lack of hospital stamina, I stayed with the boys. Papa went to witness another birth.  He had been to all of them but Isaac's, due to the distance to North Carolina. He sits in the corner, and waits to see the baby.  Brianne delivered Livi with ease, and everybody was glad to meet her. We are in love.

She's here!

Big O, little O, love at first sight.

Hello world!

So fun to have two Olivia's,  Bailey Olivia, my oldest grand daughter, and Olivia Jane, my youngest grand daughter.

Poor little Zeke is really having a go at it right now. He managed a sweet smile here.

And now there are four...

This one is in love, but showing his adjustment in many creative ways.
