Slacking...

Oh my, time is flying and I have quit doing something I love to do.  I have keep thinking that I needed to catch up on my blog, but this is ridiculous. Where do I start ... AGAIN?

Since the 4th of July we have celebrated many birthdays, found out all about the "Texas Football" way of life, started a new school year,  and endured a HOT summer here in the South.

We celebrated Ady's Birthday the end of July.  The whole Wallace clan descended upon Lupes for dinner and cake at Jamie and Becky's afterwards. She opened her gifts, and went right to work playing with her newly received treasures.

Early August found Bailey and I, on to our annual breakfast at I Hop . We enjoyed breakfast, and went to pick up some things for her locker at school.  She is officially in middle school. We had a great time as usual.  Love her!

We christened Bri and Jarod's new pool with a party for Bailey's Birthday

We had another pool party for my birthday. Got some more charms to add to the bracelet.

School started the end of August.  I think everyone was ready to go back.  They are doing great, and parents are extra busy.

We celebrated Becky's Birthday with a Breakfast with the girls.

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in San Antonio. Beautiful views, river tour, two story bus tour, were a fun way to see downtown San Antonio.

Loved taking pictures of the flags a top the buildings, at night you could look out our hotel window and see them waving in the breeze.

Loved the architecture of the buildings.

Loved the river walk lined with umbrellas and restaurants.

Our Hotel.

There must have been a fire or something, the sun looked like a big red ball in the sky.

Made a quick trip to the Alamo.

We got this fortune the Tuesday, before we left. The real excitement, is that somewhere on that trip, someone got a hold of our credit card number!!!!   UGH!!!

September brought a fun labor day, football, Jamie's 39 birthday, and Rick's Moms 90 birthday and my Mother's 82nd Birthday.

Gavin is loving being a Tomball Patriot this year. His practices and training started back in May.  He is doing a little better every week. He is on special teams and nose guard. Being small doesn't intimidate him at all.  If he faces lives challenges head on like he does football, he will do great things.

They won the mayors cup!

Then off for a 5 day whirlwind in Utah.

Got a great picture of the Y from the plane.
First visit with Mom.

Spending time with a special friend. Dinner, visiting, and shopping at Gardener Village.  Ann and I raised our kids together.  We both move to the same area at the same time, love her so much! One of the reasons it was hard to leave Utah.

Loved Gardener Village, first time to see the "Witch Festival."  Rick was waiting for us in the car. Felt a little guilty, but did get some shopping in.

Rick's Mom's 90th Birthday. Family travel from all over to come and wish her well. So good to catch up and see everyone. We flew up to Utah, so I did't get to bring much in the way of decorating. Holly and Dawn did a great job.

bottom row: Bob Powers step brother, Holly Wilkins step sister, Connie Moore step sister, back row: Dawn Searle step sister, Kathy Christensen step sister.

Then back to the City to wish my Mom a Happy Birthday!  Took the long way back over the Alpine loop.

The quakies were even pretty without their leaves...

I wish I could have gotten to dress up Mom before party. I would have gotten her hair done and freshened her up. She seemed pretty unfazed by everything.  I did see a little spark when we sang. I enjoyed visiting with everyone, just wish it could be different.  I miss Mom. It is so hard to see her this way. We came home the next day. We came home tired and needing a vacation!
