Do you see what I see?

Do you see similarities or is it just me. Take the freckles off Bri's face and add bangs.

Laynie Jo 2 years old.

"Doughnut" taste good?

Ike just loves doughnuts. Anytime we drive by Shipley's he screams for donuts. His favorite kind are the "RED ONES." Can you tell he enjoys them?

Trying to just eat the frosting, of course!

Hum... which bite should I take next.? This approach is a little messy, wouldn't you agree?

But the big frosty red smile says it all!

Doughnuts do taste good.

Isn't it funny...

I know I have gone out to lunch with my daughter and daughters in law quite a bit, but today's outing brought back memories. When these two girls (pictured below) were little it was quite the adventure when we would meet their Great Auntie Jane for lunch. Becky would bring Rachel, Matt, and Sarah in from Bountiful, and I would bring Jamie, Brandon and Brianne in from West Jordan to meet Auntie Jane in down town Salt Lake City, usually at the Dee's Restaurant by Temple Square or the Tiffan Room at ZCMI. The kids were all under 5. We would load up the car, no car seats mind you, and drive 20 minutes. Then we would proceed into the restaurant where all chaos broke out. I always remember saying to myself "I will never do this again." You would go home totally exhausted and usually with a headache to match. Isn't it funny how LOVE conquers all. All the hurry up of getting there, all the screaming and crying in the car, all the crying and fighting during the meal. All the spilled food or drink decorating your clothes, the floor, and the chairs. All the changing of messy diapers, cleaning spit up, and the sticky suckers they got when we left to go home.. Then it was the 20 minute ride home, that seem like an hour. All to do it over, and over, and over, again! 29 years was a long time ago, but it is still fresh on my mind.

Sarah and Brianne 29 years later.

My little "Monster!" Ike

I put Kate in Jacob's car seat to get a picture of them.

Ike and Guggy coming to terms about him eating something.

At least we didn't have to worry about our kids crying because they wanted to do this instead of eating. Thanks, Red Robbin!

I look back, and don't know how I managed sometimes...but then love does conquer all.

BURRRRRRRRRRRR!

It must be cold. Since I almost burned the house down a few years ago Rick hadn't turned the fireplace on. Due to the 28 degree temperature tonight, he was more than willing to do it. It feels so good! It reminds me of growing up in cold Vernal, Utah. We almost always had a fire going in the fireplace. I loved to lay on the radiant tile floor we had in the family room and watch the fire on cold winter nights.
I don't wear socks at all unless it is really cold. Proof it is cold!

Pipes are taped, plants were covered, (at least until the wind blows the sheet off), warm fire and nice warm socks. Wish I hadn't gotten rid of our electric blanket! I am enjoying the cold weather because, I know the temps are going back up to mild in a few days. Don't know if I would like it too much longer.

Wii, Wii!

I forgot to post these pictures of Bailey and Papa upstairs playing on Papa's new toy. You can tell by the pictures that they are having a great time. Wii, Wii!

HaPPy 2010

Man when you host a party it's hard to remember to take pictures. I did grab a few at the beginning the very end but not much in the middle. I didn't get pictures of everybody. :(

I made 4 different types of sandwiches. I didn't have many left overs.

After the fireworks the kids came in to grab a cupcake. (Becky, Carmen, and AJ) It was fun to have my nephew's children over to celebrate they have become great friends with Bailey.

Brynley and Brandon taking in the festivities.

Grampy DJ and baby Kate enjoying snuggle time.

Benson was getting tired and ready to go home.

Ike loved the horns and blowers...moms and dads not so much.

Bay trying to play jingle bells.

AJ also had me take another picture with the horn.

With 16 people needing a place to eat the oldest grandchildren ate in the kitchen.

After I set the table, I thought to myself ..."this looks like a blue and gold banquet."

We had our traditional New Years Eve meal. We had an enjoyable evening of food, fun, and family. No better way than that, to ring in the new year!
