There was a little...

There was a little girl that had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. And when she was good she was very, very, good and when she was bad she was horrid. (Sorry for the X rated pic)

And a little boy who had no idea what was coming his way.

This little girl was growing up just to meet him.

The handsome little boy would just have to wait a few years.

Meanwhile the little girl gave most of her hugs and kisses to her dog Ginger.

The little boy went on to play baseball, raise a falcon, and hunt in the woods by his house.

Then the little girl became a teenager. She always wanted to be a cheerleader (lame but true). She made cheerleader her junior year of high school. One day the girl was on a bus after cheering at a football game. She noticed the handsome boy. He was lying on the floor of the bus. She wasn't shy, she ask him if he would like to use her poms poms (really) for a pillow. The handsome boy replied, "sure!" After a few more minutes he jumped up and sat down by the girl. They talked for the next three hours. The girl found out the boy...

was on the high school basketball team. The boy then saw the girl every night the next week. He then ask her to Homecoming for which she was grateful because she had turned down two other invitations in hopes he would.

He walked her to all her classes from then on out. She cheered for him at basketball games. They went to many dances together...

The boy then went off to college, but the girl followed the year after.

After being best friends for four years, the boy finally ask her to marry him. And she said...

Yes... So the little girl and the little boy were married.

That was 34 years ago today. Three children and six and three quarters grand kids strong.

Firsts

The fun thing about being a Guggy is that you get to experience all the grand kids firsts. First smile, first tooth, first steps... today was Guggy's first grandchild to go to school. After cute traditions and celebration last night, Bailey was up and ready to go.
Bay with her teacher.
When I called Bay after school, she told me riding the school bus was the best part of the day!

We love you Bay!

There once was ...

There once was a crazy fifty something year old Guggy named OLIVIA. Who never really liked her name. Growing up she was called "Olive, Oliver, Alavia, and other dreadful things. As she grew up there were those who helped her like her name a little more than before, Olivia Hussey (Romeo and Juliet), and Olivia Newton John to name a few. Then one day while in Barnes and Noble, she headed to her favorite part of the store, the children's section. That is when she discovered "OLIVIA THE PIG". She picked up the book and read the pages, and was hooked. She related quite well with this pig, from her name, to her red shoes. After years, she collected so much OLIVIA memorabilia she needed to do something with it. One day she thought to herself that she must combine the love she had for this little pig with her other great love scrapbooking. She planned and she plotted, she thought and rethought... Then one day with the love and patience of her cute hubby, and her family, her plans came true.

WELCOME INSIDE HER SCRAPBOOK ROOM!

Thanks to Ikea, the color scheme worked perfectly.

She had soooo... much more room to work.

She can watch her fav, HGTV, any time she scraps.

She actually had room for her sewing machine on it's table.

She was so excited to get creative again and make fun things.

She was so grateful for her blessings... and yes, she now likes her name!

Good-bye

We got together on Sunday night for the last time in a while to be together as a family.

Benz has a great affection for Aunt Becky he will miss her.
Isaac and Laynie are just 4 months apart in age and were just starting to play more together.

Gavin and Bay are going to miss one another a lot. They have their moments, but love to play together at family gatherings.

Laynie has become the stair-master the last 10 days. I have a really steep stairway, but that didn't stop Laynie.

A very rare occasion of affection for two boys who usually push each others buttons.
The brotherhood saying goodbye.

Miracles of miracles... all Guggy's monkeys sitting in a row.

"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Sweat Pants." Becky and Looli and Brianne have had fun getting to know one another and will be found chatting on the phone quite frequently. Thank heavens for computers and cell phones.

One last visit with the geckos for Gavin and Laynie. At night, if the kids are visiting they look forward to seeing the geckos running around on my front porch when they leave. The pic isn't good, but you get the idea.

We will miss you Jamie, Beck, and kiddles. The last five years with your family so close by has been a comfort and a joy to me.

IHOPpity Birthday Bailey!

Yesterday was our oldest grandchild's birthday. Bailey turned 6 years old and will start
kindergarten in a few more weeks. We started a new tradition last year. When a grandchild turns 5, Guggy takes them to IHOP for breakfast, she thought it should continue. Decked out in her birthday shirt, hair-bows made by Mom and cupcake clippies, I picked her up and we were off to IHOP. She loved it! She gets to order anything she wants. Yesterday's order was the same as last years, hot chocolate, a funny face pancake, and a side of bacon.

She loved the whip cream on the hot chocolate. Had a little mishap with the first cup of hot chocolate, but they provided her a second. Darn... got a whole new helping of whip cream.

After 3 pieces of bacon and a few bites of pancake, she thought she was done until...

Out came the singing waiters with a Hot Fudge Sunday as big as she was.

She was in heaven... more whip cream!

How fast can a 22 month old boy make a mess... real fast!

It is moving day for Brianne and Jarod. I got Ike duty, and Rick got lifting duty. This was an hour into the day.

At least he hasn't cried for Mom yet!

Next trick... trying to get a boy who never sleeps anywhere but in his own crib, in here!
