Marching through March

March 1st is one of my favorite days of the year. Benz and I get to celebrate his Birthday.  This year he chose to go to Gringos a Mexican restaurant over by their home in Cypress.  We had a grand time. We even got to see the Trail Riders making their way to down town Houston for the Rodeo.  We don't make a big fuss over Texas Independence day, but the Rodeo is celebrated well. We haven't fought the crowds to go to the Rodeo, but have gone to the livestock show, it was worth the time. Spring break, blue bonnets, and another Happy Birthday finished off the month's fun.

Heehaw, stop the traffic its Rodeo Houston time of year!

Gringo's it is!

He ordered something with shrimp in it. He LOVES seafood.

Big bowl of ice cream and a "Happy Birthday"song.

We tried to reenact photo from (below).

Spring break started off with a Bang,  Jacob broke his arm the week before, so it was not so fun for him. Brianne invited all the cousins for a day in the pool. The had a great time swimming and playing.

It was really hard for this little guy to watch the others having fun.
Bailey enjoys her time in the pool and is looking forward to being on swim team this year a long with Benz and Pip.

Ady joined Benson in his water battle.

Bay and Livi share a moment.

Pip and cousin Laynie enjoyed the pool, they stayed in the longest giving her and Laynie a sunburn.

Some of the family and extended family got together to celebrate St Patrick's Day.  Great celebration with food, family, and fun!  Who wouldn't want to eat these wonderful treats?

Yummy desserts

Minne adorned in her St Patricks scarf.

Jacob and Katelyn

Becky and DJ Sister and brother in law.

My children always give me a bad time about taking pictures while they eat! Daughter Brianne posed in a bad way for this lovely picture.

Aunt Sarah had fun games and a leprechaun hunt to end the festivities.

Cute bunch of Leprechauns!

Drove up to Brenham on the 19th of the month to enjoy the blue bonnets. We left a head of those who were going. We drove up to Independence, just north of Brenham.  It is our "go to" spot. We were encouraged by what flowers we had seen on the way up.  However when we got up there we were sorely disappointed.   We quickly phoned the family and instructed them to meet us in Chappell Hills, just east of Brenham.  There was a cute little red barn with a slope of blue bonnets. One day I am going to go and just sit in a field and paint or draw.

Laynie, Audrey, and Ady were pretty good little models.

Love these pictures with Becky, our dil, and the girls.

Then it was the Stewarts turn.  As usual, we have one that won't cooperate this year it was Livis turn to be a stinker.  Minnie the poodle cooperated most of the time.  It was like watching a circus trying to get these shots, but we got a few.

Jacob was just waiting pateintly for the rest of his siblings, so a snap a shot.

Livi lasted about 10 seconds before she wanted nothing to do with sitting in the flowers.

...and she's up

...and stomping off

I took the side shots, Brianne didnt like them.  They are some of my favorites.

Wish I would have done my hair, I guess the braid fits the picture though.

You have to eat after taking pictures it is quite tiring.

Lucky for us there was a play ground.

Celebrated Brandon's birthday on the 26th of March. Loo cook a great dinner and we had the Happy Birthday ritual. Love Brandon and his dedication to his family.

We finished off the month listening to a wonderful women's conference, it was amazing! Great messages, good food, and treats!

February Fun

Had fun watching Bailey finish out her basketball season. Call me crazy but I could watch the grand kids play sports everyday. I especially like the ones played indoors because of Houston's wonderful climate. She had a tourney the first week in February. They had done pretty well during the season but had lost to some tough teams. So I expected them to do well, but they surprised us and won the tourney. It was Ricks 1st time to watch her play, because of early games and work conflicts. You could literally see him bursting with pride as he watched her play.

We also got a treat her last home game where she along with her choir group got to sing the National Anthem  at the beginning of the game. they sang A Capella it was awesome!

We celebrated Laynie's 9th Birthday. We got together for ice-cream cake  I didn't get pictures, stole one from Gavins Party. It had been a long day.

Took Rick out for Valentines Dinner a day early. Pappasitos has a great Valentines Day special, and we took advantage of it.

Lobster, the only seafood I will eat.

Love me some chocolate covered goodness!

We got together for Presidents Day. Comfy seats, cute kids, and popcorn made the Batman Movie a little more bearable. The kids had a great time, they sure do love being together!
